Day 247 – 21st October 2011
Red Rock Campsite, Byfield State Forest, QLD
We continued the drive to Rockhampton but turned east to Yeppoon before hitting the city. We had a quick stop at the Tourist Information Centre, before driving north to Byfield State Forest. We visited the Upper Stony area where we set off on a walk along the creek but after seeing 2 snakes in the long grass within a distance of less than 100m we decided to give the remainder of the walk a miss. Instead we drove to the Byfield Store, where we treated ourselves with a chai latte and chocolate brownie. Afterwards we drove to Red Rock campsite to set up for the night.
