Day 326 – 8th January 2012
White Beach Tourist Park, White Beach, TAS

We had a sleep-in this morning so didn’t leave the caravan park till after 10am. We drove to the end of the White Beach road where we had breaky and enjoyed the nice views. Next we travelled to Nubeena with a stop to admire the blinding white beach and blue ocean waters before driving out towards Saltwater River to visit the historic Coal Mines where we took a walk around the ruins on this old convict site. After lunch we drove to Lime Bay and on to the sand dunes of Roaring Beach. Next we caught up with David, a friend of Andrew’s who had to fly into Hobart for work, and had a drink and dinner at the Fox & Hounds Inn at Port Arthur.

Day 325 – 7th January 2012
White Beach Tourist Park, White Beach, TAS

Another early start to walk to Cape Pillar before the wind quicks in as this walk is not advised in strong winds. We walked past Lunchtime Creek to Perdition Ponds and finally reached the Blade and Chasm Lookout where we had great views over Tasman Island and the coastline. After a rest we walked back to the campsite and packed up (?km return - ?h). Next we had lunch and walked back to Fortescue Bay (8km – 2h). We moved on to White Beach where we booked into the caravan park and enjoyed a relaxing evening.
