Day 206 – 10th September 2011
Cape Tribulation Camping, QLD
On our way to Daintree Village this morning we took a scenic drive through the Whyanbeel Valley and had a look at Rocky Point (where a keen fisherman was waiting waist deep in a choppy – there could be crocodiles around - sea for his mate to get their dingy on the trailer) and Wonga Beach. At Daintree we enjoyed morning tea before unhooking the Suzuki (towed behind Andrew’s parents’ motorhome) and going for a scenic drive along Upper Daintree Road next to the river. We didn’t see any crocodiles but they must be around as you can go on crocodile cruises here – we gave it a miss as we’ve seen plenty in NT. Afterwards we took the ferry over the Daintree River and drove to our campground at Cape Tribulation with a short stop at Waluwurrigga Alexandra Range Lookout, a walk along the Jindalba Boardwalk (700m loop – 30min), a look at Noah's Beach and a visit to Mason’s store to get more information on the Bloomfields 4WD Track.
