Day 191 – 26th August 2011
Henrietta Creek Campsite, Wooroonooran National Park, QLD
After breakfast we had a quick look at Koombooloomba Dam. Next we drove to Rhyolite Pinnacle trailhead as we had decided to face the leeches again by doing another walk of the Misty Mountains trail. Yes we must be crazy! After about 6km walking in leech territory, we arrived at the Rhyolite Pinnacle with nice views of the Tully River valley and the misty mountains – the reason for doing this walk (14.6km loop – 5h45). Back at the van we decided we had enough of the little creatures and were happy to move on. We returned to Ravenshoe and took the scenic drive via the windmill farm and Pepina and Souita Falls to Millaa Millaa – the first of many falls as this is waterfall country. As it was getting quite late we travelled on to Henrietta Creek Campsite on the Palmerston Highway.
