Anderson VC Rest Area, NSW (33km North of Canberra)
After breaky we had another look at Perry’s Lookdown before driving back to Blackheath via Pulpit Rock for more spectacular views of the Grose Valley. Next we drove out to Evans Lookout as we were recommended to do the Grand Canyon walk (5km loop – 2h). The walk goes down into the canyon where you look up to the sheer cliffs (difficult to catch on camera). Climbing up a rock to take a photo of Andrew crossing the creek on a log, Nele slipped (she hadn’t noticed the moss!) and grazed her arm and leg (and we are expecting a nice bruise on her backside tomorrow as well). Afterwards we left the Blue Mountains and set off towards Canberra. We stopped at Oberon for lunch and Goulburn to fill up with fuel and take a photo of the Big Merino. It was a very scenic drive to Weereewa Lookout at tonight’s rest area.
