Crowdy Gap Cultural Camp, Crowdy Bay National Park, NSW

We woke up to a beautiful sunny day so after breaky we had a quick look at North Haven Beach, before driving up to North Brother Lookout in Dooragan NP. Unfortunately a tree had fallen over the road, caused by the past days’ stormy weather, so we had to drive back down to Laurieton as the road up was quite narrow and there was nowhere to park along the road and we couldn’t leave the van on the road in case the CFS was coming up to clear the road. So we decided to walk all the way up to the lookout (4.8km return - 1.5h). It was a hard walk as we haven’t done a lot of hikes lately but the views were amazing and definitely worth it. Next we drove to Kattang Nature Reserve and walked to Perpendicular Point and Fishermans Bluff, both lookouts offering great views of the Camden Haven coast (3km return – 45min). We dove to Charles Hamey Lookout, before continuing on to Diamond Head in Crowdy Bay NP. After lunch we walked along beautiful Diamond Head beach to Split Rock and enjoyed a refreshing swim. Next we drove to Indian Head where we walked along the cliffs, admiring the beautiful views back over Diamond Head, to Natural Arch and Kylies Beach Lookout (3km loop - 45min). Late afternoon we arrived at the Crowdy Gap campsite and walked along the beach to Crowdy Head Surfclub (2km return).
