Galena Bridge (Murchinson River) Campsite, WA

Day 79 – 6th May 2011
Galena Bridge (Murchinson River) Campsite, WA

This morning we had a look at the Kalbarri Coastal Cliffs (Natural Bridge, Island Rock, Shellhouse Grandstand, Eagle Gorge, Mushroom Rock and Jacques Point). Nice scenery but there were lots of annoying flies around –which Andrew couldn’t handle very well – even with the super sexy fly net - and it was pretty hot. Jacques Point is renowned among surfers for its superb reef break and from the beach you can get close up views of the surfing action. Pretty cool! Had lunch and a swim at Chinaman’s Beach again, before leaving Kalbarri. On leaving we stopped at 2 more lookouts in Kalbarri NP (Hawks Head and Ross Graham). Camped at the very popular with Grey Nomads Galena Bridge Campsite. Good free camp spot to stay at before or after visiting Kalbarri.
