Browns Creek Rest Area, Yandina, QLD

Day 259 – 2nd November 2011
Browns Creek Rest Area, Yandina, QLD

After breakfast we travelled via the back roads to Boreen Point to have a look at Lake Cootharaba. From here you can kayak to and up the Upper Noosa River (also known as the Noosa Everglades) where there are multiple campsites to stay in the national park, which sounds nice to do so we’ve added it to our ‘to do next time’-list. Instead we continued on to Noosa Heads via Tewantin and Noosaville. We drove to the Noosa National Park where we took the coastal walking track via Hell’s Gates to Alexandria Beach and further on to a lookout with views over Sunshine Beach and all the way to Coolum headland (10.5km return – 2h20). Afterwards we were ready for a swim in the sea to cool off so we drove back to Noosa Beach. Noosa is a very crowded place and therefore not really our cup of tea so we decided to continue on. We travelled via Castaways Beach to Coolum Beach where we had a stop at Point Perry Lookout. Afterwards we travelled inland to a free camp spot near Yandina.
