Boranup Campground, Cape Leeuwin - Naturaliste National Park, WA

Day 45 – 2nd April 2011
Boranup Campground, Cape Leeuwin - Naturaliste National Park, WA

Decided to go for a swim first thing this morning in Blackwood river which freshened us up for the day.  Decided to leave Alexandra campground and drove into Augusta and visited the lighthouse at Cape Leeuwin where the Indian and Southern Oceans meet.  Had lunch along the river’s edge which was very nice.  From here we went to the lookout which provides views over the river and surrounding NP.

Drove along the Scenic drive (caves road) to Boranup camp ground for the night but stopped via Foul Bay and Cosy Corner (nice scenic coastline).  We are just debating what walks we will do next.  There is a walk called ‘Cape to Cape’ which follows the coast line from Cape Leeuwin to Cape Naturaliste through the NP (140km one way).  It has been divided up into 7 days of walking.  If we decide to do any of the walks then we will need to catch a taxi back to the Van, will see how we go.
