Normans beach (near Albany), WA

Day 31 – 19th Mar 2011
Normans beach (near Albany), WA

Decided to get up early and walk the highest peak in Stirling Range NP, Mt Bluff Knoll (1,095m ASL).  Beautiful clear morning but as we got to the top the clouds came in quite quickly and we couldn’t see much at all, however they left as quick as they came and we were able to get some nice photos from the top.  (2hr 40 mins return – 1hr to top).  It’s one of those walks that if you lived in the area you would do it regularly – good way to keep fit as the track is pretty good allowing you to move quickly even though it is reasonably steep, it’s pretty much steps all the way (623m climb)

Drove to Porongurup NP and hiked to Hayward Peak, Nancy Peak and Morgans View (5.5km Loop – 1hr 40 mins return).  Decided to then move onto Normans Beach (free campsite) near Albany and went for a walk on the beach and read.
