Fowlers Bay Caravan Park, SA

Day 15 – 3rd Mar 2011
Fowlers Bay Caravan Park, SA

Visited:

Ceduna – shopping

Cactus Beach – Awesome surf beach, great campsite with some unique compost toilets.  Walked to Point Sinclair from Cactus, passed a few fishermen on the rocks.  The point is quite windy (approx 1hr ½ return).  Cactus is where we should have camped for the night but we got there early in the morning so decided to move on, my advice "if you get there early stay there for at least a night".

Scott beach – This was supposed to be our campsite, however the road was too rough and corrugated we turned around after 1 km and headed back to Fowlers Bay.

Fowlers Bay – had a bit of a look around and pulled up at the caravan park for the night, small quiet community.  Great walk in the Fowlers Bay CP from the jetty to the point,  Nele came across a black snake which scared her silly, very funny. And we were joined by the local dog who we think walks with all new visitors to the town.  If you're doing this walk there is apparently a sea lion colony, if you want to drive you’ll need a 4WD as access is via the beach (to walk allow approx 3 ½ hrs return).  It was getting dark so we had to turn around (2hr walking).
